As a Software Engineer II, you will lead technical strategy and architecture for our hyperscale cloud platform. You will design and deliver large-scale infrastructure, building secure, scalable, and maintainable distributed systems. Your role involves influencing engineering direction through architectural leadership, driving operational excellence via automation and reliability, and ensuring solutions meet the highest standards of security and compliance. Additionally, you will mentor engineers and foster a culture of excellence while partnering across Microsoft to achieve global business impact.

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, coupled with 4+ years of technical engineering experience and proficiency in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, is required. Alternatively, equivalent experience will be considered.

Preferred qualifications include a solid understanding of systems thinking and architectural design, experience leading large-scale, geo-distributed initiatives, and a proven track record in building and operating highly available distributed systems. Expertise in cloud infrastructure, platform services, or developer platforms, along with experience leveraging AI for infrastructure solutions, is highly valued. The ability to mentor engineers and collaborate effectively with global stakeholders is also essential.
