Join Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team, a leader in transforming data analytics with cutting-edge products like Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, and Power BI. The Platform team within Microsoft Fabric develops the unified foundation for all workloads, ensuring cohesive experiences, robust infrastructure, and secure data management.

Our Microsoft IQ team enhances data understanding and actionability by grounding insights in a shared semantic layer. This improves user interaction with data, powers advanced analytics, natural language experiences, and AI-driven scenarios that deliver actionable understanding at scale. Design and implement AI-powered features leveraging large language models (LLMs), prioritizing effective context management, reliability, and tangible customer value.

Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions using technologies such as Azure Cosmos DB and semantic search to deliver accurate and grounded responses.

Utilize AI-assisted and agentic development practices and tools to boost engineering productivity, enhance quality, and streamline delivery.

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, coupled with at least 5 years of technical engineering experience, including proficiency in coding languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, is required. Alternatively, equivalent experience will be considered.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with 5+ years of engineering experience and coding skills. Experience working with semantic search systems is also highly valued.

This role requires the ability to pass Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screenings, including a Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
