This role involves researching alternative technical approaches, including AI-assisted development, to enhance productivity and code quality. You will play a key part in crafting secure, scalable, and high-quality software applications that align with Mastercard's commitment to innovation and accessibility.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of system application software, from programming and testing to maintenance and support, adhering to Mastercard's rigorous standards.

You will develop high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions using a range of backend technologies including Java, Springboot, Cloud services, Kafka, Postgres, Cassandra, JCL, Cobol, DB2, and VSAM.

Leverage AI-assisted coding tools to boost development efficiency and software quality, while also assisting in the integration of AI-enabled components under guidance. You will research and evaluate technical solution alternatives, create necessary documentation, and ensure compliance with all development, testing, and AI usage standards.

We are looking for candidates with a foundational understanding of Software Engineering concepts, methodologies, and object-oriented programming, with proficiency in Java, Springboot, Cloud services, Kafka, Postgres, Cassandra, JCL, Cobol, DB2, and VSAM being preferred.

A basic exposure to AI concepts, such as AI-assisted development tools, APIs, agents, or automation frameworks, is considered a significant plus.

This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in the software engineering field. Candidates are expected to uphold Mastercard's strict security policies and practices regarding asset, information, and network access.
