Our Transaction Stream team is at the forefront of developing next-generation core payment products. These innovative solutions are built using Digital Network Architecture, Cloud Native principles, and a Scaled Agile Framework. As a Software Engineer I on this dynamic team, you will play a vital role in translating business requirements and customer experiences into tangible features and functions, ensuring the quality, validation, and successful delivery of our platform and products.

As a Software Engineer I within the Transaction Stream team, you will be integral to delivering end-to-end product validation for our Transaction Switching Solutions. Your efforts will be crucial in driving quality throughout the development lifecycle, helping to build and ship superior products.

You will practice established test engineering methodologies and adhere to Mastercard standards, contributing to the creation of high-quality software. A key aspect of your role will be to embed quality as a fundamental part of the development process. This includes proactively monitoring customer insights and production issues to gather quality feedback and refine processes for enhanced product and capability quality. You will champion a culture of quality automation and self-service within our software delivery practices. Additionally, you will serve as the first reviewer for project-level reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections, ensuring alignment and adherence to standards.

We are seeking individuals with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a strong preference for experience in test engineering. Essential qualifications include robust organizational and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail, alongside a systematic approach to test strategy analysis and a delivery-focused mindset.

Proven experience in Unit, Functional, and Integration testing is mandatory. Practical exposure to building and utilizing test automation frameworks with Java is preferred. We also value experience testing across diverse platforms such as Microservices, Event-Driven Applications, and Databases. Familiarity with various protocols (SFTP/sockets/HTTPs/RPC) and CI/CD pipelines is a must.

Working knowledge of payment simulation tools (e.g., t3), cards and payment flows, and ISO payment protocols (8583/20022) is essential. Strong understanding of the cards and payments domain, including message flows and formats, is preferred. Experience with cloud-based platform architecture and microservice testing, alongside a passion for emerging technologies like Event-Driven Architecture and modern caching/persistence mechanisms, will set candidates apart. Experience with Digital Native Architecture, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies (especially Pivotal Cloud Foundry) is advantageous.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are vital for coordinating with Business Owners, Architecture teams, Development/Test teams, and Vendors. Experience working within an Agile (SaFe) environment is preferred.
