Join a dynamic team focused on developing secure and scalable cloud controls for a large Azure-managed environment. This role is crucial for empowering customer-facing teams while maintaining robust security and governance. The Azure Managed Environment team delivers governed Azure tenants and subscriptions for various non-production scenarios, implementing centralized policy, monitoring, automated remediation, and cost controls. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to design, build, and operate automated solutions that enforce critical security and governance standards.
Engineer robust cloud controls, including designing reusable Azure Policy definitions, policy initiatives, and automation workflows. Lead control implementation by assessing new requirements and identifying gaps, then driving architecture and validation. Embed security by design into provisioning and lifecycle processes for scalable compliance. Own engineering quality through design standards, code reviews, testing, and documentation. Enhance detection and remediation capabilities using telemetry and logs. Advance lifecycle and cost governance with solutions for tenant and subscription management. Automate repeatable operations by building durable services and APIs. Provide engineering leadership during incidents and drive root-cause analysis. Partner across functions with service owners, security, finance, and business stakeholders. Offer technical leadership, mentor engineers, and clearly communicate design and risk trade-offs.
A minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience with general-purpose or scripting languages, or infrastructure-as-code. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 1+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience, is acceptable. Experience in leading enterprise-scale AI-powered transformations, including agentic workflows and automation, is essential. Familiarity with AI governance, risk management, and responsible AI practices is required. Proven experience in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting production-quality cloud services and automation solutions. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Policy, Azure Resource Manager, identity and access management, monitoring, or tenant governance, is necessary. A strong understanding of secure software development, cloud security controls, least privilege, configuration management, and automated compliance is expected. Ability to diagnose complex technical issues, leverage telemetry for decision-making, and lead cross-team remediation efforts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital for explaining technical and risk trade-offs.
