The Linear Discovery Service (LDS) team is responsible for the core infrastructure that shapes how Live TV content is presented. This includes defining homepage experiences, optimizing search capabilities for live programming, and determining the display of content collections and carousels across all Prime Video clients. The goal is to empower millions of customers to effortlessly find and enjoy their favorite live broadcasts.

As a Software Development Manager for the Linear Discovery Service team, you will:

- Lead and cultivate a team of software development engineers dedicated to building and enhancing the page composition engine. This engine dictates the arrangement of carousels and linear content collections on Prime Video. - Establish the technical vision and strategic direction to optimize content section placement based on customer behavior and business requirements. - Drive critical architectural decisions for scalable services, ensuring seamless integration with recommendation systems while balancing technical debt reduction with feature delivery. - Uphold operational excellence across all team services, implementing robust caching and content delivery mechanisms to ensure low-latency responses for millions of concurrent users. - Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent; manage performance effectively, provide dedicated career coaching, and foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture.

We are seeking candidates with:

- A minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering. - At least 3 years of experience in leading and managing engineering teams. - Over 8 years of experience in defining and developing multi-tier web services. - Profound knowledge of engineering best practices and patterns across the full software, hardware, and network development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations. - Proven experience in collaborating effectively with product or program management teams. - Demonstrated experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
