As a Software Development Manager, you will build and nurture a high-performing engineering team with a strong grasp of agile methodologies. You'll collaborate closely with product owners, engineering leaders, and senior management, leveraging excellent communication skills. This role involves partnering with product management to define strategy, followed by the architecture and implementation of key features for our mobile platform.

You will take ownership of software throughout its entire lifecycle, from initial architecture and design to deployment and release. You'll gain in-depth knowledge of Amazon’s ordering, fulfillment, and affordability domains, working with diverse teams to create optimized systems. A key aspect will be designing and launching India-first features and programs that resonate with local customers and have global relevance.

A minimum of 7 years in engineering and 3 years in engineering team management is required. We also need 8+ years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services. A solid understanding of engineering practices for the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle is essential, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations.

Proven experience partnering effectively with product or program management teams is crucial for success in this role. Preferred qualifications include a track record in communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, articulate product features, and present technical designs and strategies. Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineering teams to foster skill development and enhance effectiveness is also highly valued.
