As a Software Development Manager, you will collaborate closely with business and technical teams to meticulously define requirements and architect high-level technical strategies and software roadmaps for feature delivery. You will guide and inspire a dedicated team of engineers in designing and developing large-scale, distributed technology solutions. Your role will involve fostering innovation, providing critical technology direction to our business objectives, and driving the development of cutting-edge technologies across algorithmic challenges, novel freight execution tools, and dynamic network scenarios.

You will expertly balance the delivery of immediate project needs with the strategic planning of long-term architectural enhancements. Leading your team through rapid development cycles, measured in weeks, you will also focus on mentoring engineers, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring your team possesses the resources needed to achieve outstanding results.

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering team management and a solid foundation of 7+ years in engineering roles. Significant experience, totaling 8+ years, in defining and developing multi-tier web services is essential. A comprehensive understanding of engineering practices and patterns across the full software, hardware, and network development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations, is required.

Demonstrated experience partnering effectively with product or program management teams is crucial. Additionally, proven experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, encompassing design patterns, reliability, and scalability, is a key qualification. Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, articulate product features, technical designs, and product strategy is highly valued. The ability to recruit, hire, mentor, and coach teams of Software Engineers to enhance their skills and effectiveness is also a significant advantage.
