The Core Services team plays a pivotal role in assessing risks posed by bad actors across various entities like orders, returns, and sign-ins. We develop self-service capabilities for easy experimentation, launch, and management of new use cases worldwide, acting as the guardians of customer trust by mitigating harm to legitimate customers and Amazon.

The challenges we address are immense, involving billions of evaluations at millisecond latency while maintaining cost efficiency.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will architect, enhance, and maintain mission-critical systems, employing cutting-edge technologies with an AI-first approach. Your contributions will protect millions of customers daily through the design and enhancement of microservices within risk evaluation systems.

You will focus on improving onboarding and operational efficiency using Gen AI. Furthermore, you will work on reducing risk evaluation time and costs through the adoption of leading industry technologies.

Participation in an on-call rotation for critical systems is expected. Exceptional customer relationship skills, including identifying underlying requirements, recommending technical solutions, and delivering optimal outcomes within timelines, are essential.

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, encompassing design patterns, reliability, and scaling, is required.

Preferred qualifications include at least 3 years of experience across the full software development life cycle. This encompasses proficiency in coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
