As a Software Development Engineer II, you will lead the design and delivery of significant features within scalable, multi-tiered applications and services. You will drive projects through their entire lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing operation.

Key responsibilities include writing high-quality, well-tested production code using modern programming languages and design patterns. You will make sound technical decisions, considering trade-offs in areas like caching, retry strategies, and data modeling. Emphasis will be placed on designing and building for scale and resilience, anticipating failure modes and implementing patterns like backpressure and circuit breakers.

You will own operational excellence, monitoring system health, investigating root causes of issues, and driving fixes. This includes improving observability and reducing operational burden. You will also contribute to system-level design discussions, participate in design reviews, and mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.

Furthermore, you will translate complex business requirements related to punch processing, attendance, scheduling, and compliance into clear technical designs. Proactively identifying and resolving technical debt to improve code quality, performance, and system maintainability is also crucial. Contributing to team processes, such as sprint planning and retrospectives, and upholding high engineering standards are integral parts of the role.

We are seeking a strong, independent Software Development Engineer II with evolving design maturity. You must demonstrate ownership of significant features and components, driving them from inception through production and maintaining high operational standards.

Essential qualifications include: - A minimum of 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience. - At least 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling. - 1+ years of experience in a Software Development Engineer or related occupational role. - Experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using languages such as C#, C++, Java, or Perl. - Over 1 year of experience with Object-Oriented Design principles. - A Bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related field. - Proficiency in at least one software programming language.

Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent is also highly desirable.
