As a Software Development Engineer II, you will lead the design and delivery of significant features and system components. You'll drive projects through their entire lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing production operation.

Key responsibilities include writing high-quality, well-tested production code using modern languages and frameworks, and upholding high standards through rigorous code reviews. You will make sound technical decisions, balancing trade-offs in areas like caching, retry strategies, concurrency, and data modeling. Designing for scale and resilience is paramount, requiring consideration of failure modes, rate limits, and downstream dependencies. You will also own operational excellence for your systems, monitoring health, investigating incidents, and driving improvements in observability and runbooks.

Furthermore, you'll contribute to system-level design discussions, actively participating in design reviews. Mentoring junior engineers through code reviews and guidance is expected. You will translate complex business requirements into clear technical designs, proactively identify and resolve technical debt, and contribute to team processes and culture.

We are seeking a strong, independent builder with developing design maturity. The ideal candidate will own significant features and components, driving them from inception to production and maintaining high operational standards. You should write high-quality code, make well-reasoned technical decisions with appropriate trade-offs, and proactively enhance the systems you manage.

Qualifications include 3+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in system design or architecture. A minimum of 1 year of experience in designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications using languages like C#, C++, Java, or Perl is required. Experience with Object-Oriented Design is also essential.

A Bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is necessary. Candidates should have experience programming in at least one software programming language. Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent.
