Join our dynamic Sidewalk Cloud services team as a Software Development Engineer and play a pivotal role in constructing a nationwide community network designed to connect millions of IoT devices. You will architect and build essential cloud services, forming the scalable foundation of the network. This includes developing robust functionalities for authentication, encryption, message routing, and device lifecycle management.

Your contributions will also involve creating real-time monitoring and analytics solutions. These systems will drive continuous learning and enhance network availability, while proactively preventing security incidents to maintain customer trust.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the product roadmap and influence the overall system architecture. You will champion best practices within the organization and collaborate closely with AWS IoT service teams, alongside cross-functional teams from Ring, Echo, and Alexa. The goal is to deliver a cohesive and unified connectivity solution for our users.

- Oversee critical components of the core Sidewalk network services and messaging platform, handling millions of messages daily. - Propose innovative ideas and approaches to streamline new device onboarding and elevate customer value on the Sidewalk network. - Assess design alternatives, experiment with emerging technologies, and implement effective technical solutions aligned with business objectives. - Contribute to defining the product roadmap, understanding the business implications of system choices, and making informed technical trade-offs. - Collaborate with ML scientists to design and deliver advanced monitoring solutions that safeguard customer trust. - Develop and integrate generative AI solutions for enhanced operational efficiency, including automated debugging, intelligent testing, and AI-driven documentation. - Build and maintain AI-powered support systems for analyzing device behavior, automating triage, and providing smart recommendations. - Create intelligent automation tools to optimize development workflows, such as AI-assisted code generation and smart deployment processes. - Design and implement AI-driven analytics for service health monitoring, anomaly detection, and proactive insights across various dashboards. - Champion engineering best practices in operational excellence, security, and test automation, setting team standards. - Navigate ambiguity, make data-driven decisions, and manage cross-organizational complexities. - Foster consensus by identifying optimal paths forward and influencing stakeholders.

- Possess at least 3 years of professional software development experience beyond internships. - Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, including familiarity with design patterns, reliability, and scaling principles. - Demonstrate proficiency in at least one software programming language. - Ideally, have 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. - A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
