Join the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) Inventory Authority Platform (IAP) team and contribute to revolutionizing how sellers manage their inventory. This platform is crucial for FBA's growth, aiming to reduce costs and defects by providing sellers with end-to-end visibility of their inventory as it moves through Amazon's fulfillment network. You'll play a key role in scaling system capabilities to support global seller experiences across various regions.
We are seeking engineers who are passionate about building innovative solutions, driving customer impact, and disrupting e-commerce development. If you thrive on creative problem-solving, enjoy collaborating with business teams, and excel at translating complex challenges into elegant technical solutions, this role is for you. You'll be expected to challenge the status quo, bring a high bar for code quality, and demonstrate a passion for design and architecture.
As a Software Development Engineer on the IAP team, you will be instrumental in solving complex business problems and transforming them into robust technical solutions.
You will leverage object-oriented principles, algorithms, and data structures to construct systems capable of operating at Amazon's scale. This includes innovating and developing large-scale, near real-time streaming platforms and designing, launching, refactoring, and deprecating multi-tier systems handling substantial data volumes.
Embrace a fast-paced development environment, prioritizing simple, extensible code. A core aspect of this role involves proficiently using AI coding agents as primary development tools, managing features from design through implementation and testing, and ensuring the correctness, security, and operational excellence of all shipped code. You will also focus on building the necessary context and scaffolding to maximize agent effectiveness across our codebase, democratizing quality improvements.
Furthermore, you will identify high-impact automation opportunities within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), such as triage, on-call investigations, refactors, migrations, and documentation generation. The goal is to implement agentic workflows that drastically reduce manual effort, compressing weeks of toil into mere hours.
We are looking for engineers with a solid foundation in software development.
Key qualifications include a minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience (non-internship) and at least 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
Additionally, experience within the Video Games Industry, supporting title development, release, or live operations for 3+ years is required. Proficiency in at least one programming language is essential.
While not strictly mandatory, candidates with 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle—encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations—will be highly regarded. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
