Join Amazon's Fulfillment By Amazon (FBA) team, a critical component empowering sellers to deliver exceptional customer experiences. We manage the core systems, algorithms, and seller-facing tools for FBA services, covering the entire inventory lifecycle from enrollment to management. Our FBA Capacity Management and Planning group develops worldwide tools for capacity allocation, market-driven limits, international capacity, inventory forecasting, and the key Inventory Performance Index metric. We build scalable, in-house systems for large-scale business automation, inventory planning, and optimization, collaborating with top research scientists and software developers.

As a Software Development Engineer III, you will drive Native-AI transformation within our SDLC processes. You'll lead product-level design, engaging in all SDLC phases with a focus on Service Oriented Architecture, caching, load balancing, microservices, and cloud-based distributed systems. You'll leverage object-oriented design principles for multi-tier systems and apply common design patterns.

Key responsibilities include designing, refactoring, and implementing large-scale cloud services with millisecond latency. You will also improve team coding culture for quality and security and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experimentation with cutting-edge technology is encouraged. You'll utilize Lean Software Development concepts like Agile, Scrum, and Kanban, alongside Test-Driven Development and Continuous Deployment. Collaborate with senior engineers, researchers, and data engineers to design a new supply chain optimization platform and automate third-party supply management systems to drive inventory across Amazon marketplaces.

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, including at least 5 years in a programming language and 5 years in leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems. Prior experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader is essential. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.

Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. Familiarity with Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization techniques, is highly beneficial.
