As a core systems developer, you will own the design and development of critical software components for our industry-leading, cloud-native database services. Lead the design and development of significant software components for Amazon Aurora's storage platform. Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from architecture to implementation and operations. Build and maintain rock-solid, large-scale systems spanning tens of thousands of servers across multiple data centers. Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Drive innovation and contribute to the technical direction of AWS's database services. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, impactful software solutions. Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical database services.

Possess over 5 years of programming experience in at least one software language. Have 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. Demonstrate 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scalability. Show proven experience as a mentor, tech lead, or in leading an engineering team. Experience with the full software development lifecycle is preferred, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Familiarity with computer architecture, operating systems, and parallel computing is beneficial. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is desired.
