As a Software Development Engineer II, you will take ownership of significant features and services, driving end-to-end delivery. You'll influence architectural decisions that affect global customer interactions. Work within a fast-paced, collaborative environment on highly scalable systems where your contributions lead to rapid, measurable customer impact. Elevate operational standards and foster innovation by supporting a federated architecture used by numerous Amazon teams. Mentorship of fellow engineers is also a key aspect of this role.
Take full ownership of designing, developing, and deploying major features and services, transforming broadly defined problems into production-ready solutions.
Innovate and construct advanced technologies within a large-scale distributed computing environment, contributing to industry-wide advancements.
Make strategic architectural and technical trade-offs, championing engineering best practices, conducting thorough design reviews, ensuring code quality, and driving operational excellence across the team.
Develop robust distributed storage, indexing, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, cost-effective, and user-friendly.
Partner with diverse Amazonian professionals to conceptualize, design, and launch groundbreaking products and services.
Provide mentorship to junior engineers and actively contribute to the team's technical development.
A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships.
Possess at least 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, with a focus on reliability and scalability.
Have 3+ years of experience within the Video Games Industry, specifically supporting title development, release, or live operations.
Demonstrated proficiency in programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is also advantageous.
