Join Amazon's Finance Technology (FinTech) organization as a Software Development Engineer II on the General Ledger team. You'll be instrumental in building the next generation of globally scalable financial systems. You will engage in greenfield development, tackling complex challenges in cloud computing, distributed data processing, and high-throughput transaction handling. Collaborating with product managers, data engineers, accountants, and principal engineers, you'll significantly influence architectural decisions and cultivate your technical leadership in a high-impact environment.
Design and implement robust software solutions throughout the entire development lifecycle within a large-scale AWS distributed environment. Collaborate effectively with product managers, data engineers, and finance stakeholders to translate business needs into precise technical solutions.
Mentor team members through constructive code reviews and technical guidance, enhancing code quality, security, readability, and maintainability. Identify and resolve the root causes of operational issues, driving continuous improvements in system reliability and team operational practices. Evaluate emerging technologies and architectural patterns to address high-scale data processing challenges, providing practical recommendations for adoption.
A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships, is required. You should also have 2+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, focusing on reliability and scalability. Proficiency in full stack development over 3 years and experience with at least one programming language are essential.
Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is also highly desirable.
