Job description

Join our FBA Capacity and Inventory Health Management team and play a pivotal role in enhancing Amazon's vast seller ecosystem. This position contributes to the core systems, algorithms, and seller tools that empower sellers to efficiently manage their inventory within Amazon's fulfillment network. You'll be instrumental in building and managing global tools for capacity allocation, market-driven limits, and advanced inventory planning, directly impacting key seller-facing metrics like the Inventory Performance Index. Our in-house systems are at the forefront of automating large-scale business operations and inventory optimization, offering a dynamic environment to collaborate with leading research scientists and software developers.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, multi-tier systems using concepts like Service Oriented Architecture, microservices, and cloud technologies. Apply object-oriented design principles and common design patterns to large-scale distributed services handling high transaction volumes and millisecond latency. Lead by example in improving team coding culture, focusing on quality and security. Clearly communicate complex technical challenges and solutions to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.

Embrace an experimental approach to technology selection to achieve project goals. Utilize Lean Software Development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Kanban. Implement Test-Driven Development and Continuous Deployment practices. Collaborate with Senior and Principal Engineers, Researchers, and Data Engineers across teams to architect new supply chain optimization platforms. Enhance and refine existing supply chain systems to support evolving business initiatives and automate third-party management systems to optimize inventory flow across Amazon marketplaces.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships. Possess at least 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, focusing on reliability and scalability. Have 3 years of experience within the Video Games Industry, supporting title development, release, or live operations. Proficiency in at least one programming language is essential.

Additionally, preferred candidates will have 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is highly valued.
