Job description

Join the Amazon Travel & Events (AT&E) Tech team, a vital part of Finance Automation, and drive a significant, multi-year transformation of employee travel and expense experiences globally. We are consolidating diverse systems into a unified, AI-powered platform within AtoZ, featuring Plan, Book, Pay, and Expense modules. Leveraging advanced technologies like machine learning, NLP, and GenAI, our platform offers context-aware policy guidance, proactive compliance, fraud detection, and sustainability insights, all integrated seamlessly into employee workflows. This initiative aims to reduce administrative burdens, achieve substantial cost savings, and enhance employee productivity worldwide.

This role offers a dynamic environment to build next-generation unified Travel & Expense systems. You'll design and implement services that power AI-driven policy guidance, intelligent booking, automated expense workflows, centralized payments, and real-time T&E analytics for a global customer base. Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and fellow engineers across Finance Automation and partner organizations. You will experience significant autonomy and ownership, working directly with customer needs and benefiting from the guidance of senior engineering talent.

The team operates with a two-pizza team structure, leading technical transformations in Travel & Expense. You'll contribute to a three-tier AI architecture designed to answer policy questions within seconds with source references, and proactively suggest policy-compliant options during booking. Develop modern, mobile-first travel booking and Meetings & Events experiences for over 45 countries, complete with real-time validation and calendar integration. Build guided workflows, automated data pipelines, and conversational agents to drastically cut down expense report submission times and eliminate a portion of reports entirely. Implement virtual payment capabilities and central card automation to reduce out-of-pocket spending and aim for zero manual reconciliation. Develop AI/ML-powered fraud detection models for automated investigation and transaction-based detection. Construct a single-source T&E analytics platform delivering real-time spend insights, policy violation tracking, and cost optimization visibility.
