Join Amazon's Finance Automation team as a Software Development Engineer II, contributing to a significant, multi-year transformation of the global Travel & Expense experience. This initiative aims to unify fragmented systems into a single, AI-powered platform, enhancing planning, booking, payment, and expense management for over 500,000 employees worldwide. Design and implement robust, scalable service architectures to support AI-driven policy guidance, intelligent booking, and automated expense workflows for a global user base. Drive features through the entire software development lifecycle, from initial conception and design to implementation, rigorous testing, deployment, and ongoing operations. Collaborate closely with product managers, applied scientists, and fellow engineers across various departments and partner organizations to translate complex business needs into reliable and effective technical solutions.
Elevate team standards through insightful code reviews and design discussions, contributing to improved software quality and establishing shared engineering best practices. Proactively identify and resolve the root causes of operational issues, focusing on continuous improvement of system reliability and maintainability.
A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships, is required. Additionally, at least 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, encompassing design patterns, reliability, and scaling, is essential. Proficiency in at least one programming language and a proven track record of building and successfully delivering complex software systems to customers are mandatory.
Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of comprehensive experience across the full software development lifecycle, covering coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is also highly desirable.
