This platform enables seamless transactions beyond Amazon.com and allows users to manage their payment preferences and view off-Amazon transaction history. Millions of transactions are processed globally through Amazon Pay, supported by our teams who build software across the entire technology stack, from user interfaces to scalable backend systems.
As an SDE2 within Amazon External Payments, you will be responsible for owning the development of foundational payment capabilities that enable intelligent agents to facilitate customer purchases.
You will collaborate closely with the Global Payment Tech team to design and implement essential payment primitives, including wallet integration, tokenization, and agentic deals.
Key responsibilities include setting the technical direction for your team, influencing the technology roadmap across the organization, and championing ongoing enhancements to system architecture and performance.
We are seeking experienced Software Development Engineers (SDE Leads) passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex business challenges and deliver impactful solutions at scale.
Basic Qualifications include: - A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships. - At least 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, encompassing design patterns, reliability, and scaling. - Proficiency in at least one software programming language. - A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification.
Preferred Qualifications: - Over 3 years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
