As a Software Development Engineer II on the Selection Monitoring team, you will play a pivotal role in creating innovative solutions to enhance Amazon's product selection. You'll tackle complex problems related to data mining, AI, big data, and cloud-scale distributed systems, driving authoritative selection on the Amazon platform.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with senior engineers on the technical and architectural vision for systems that generate structured domain entities. You will design and build robust frameworks for managing domain entities throughout their lifecycle and solving intricate challenges in automated identity generation, web-to-Amazon namespace translation, and product classification. Furthermore, you will develop scalable platforms for processing external data requests and lead the design of efficient solutions for product information storage and retrieval.

This role requires a highly motivated and adaptable individual with a strong passion for problem-solving. A deep understanding of engineering large-scale software systems is essential. You will be expected to take ownership of system success, driving solutions from initial design through coding, testing, and deployment in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Candidates should possess at least three years of professional software development experience, excluding internships. Additionally, a minimum of two years in designing or architecting new and existing systems, including experience with design patterns, reliability, and scaling, is required. Experience in the video games industry, supporting title development, release, or live operations, is also a key requirement, alongside proficiency in at least one programming language. Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations, is highly preferred.
