Our team powers Alexa with a "sense of sight," enabling features like "Alexa, show the front door" and automatic announcements triggered by event detection. We provide a robust suite of APIs for partners such as Ring and Blink, integrating their cameras with Alexa for seamless experiences. Our work spans Computer Vision, media streaming, real-time communication, and the Alexa app, enhancing smart home camera and doorbell interactions for end-consumers and device developers alike.

As a key member of the Cameras team, you will spearhead the technical vision for customer experiences on Echo and FireTV devices. You will collaborate with talented, cross-disciplinary teams to design, implement, and launch groundbreaking products.

Your responsibilities will include: - Architecting and building highly reliable, performant applications across various Amazon devices, maintaining a high standard of quality. - Leading software design initiatives, establishing development standards, refining team processes, and conducting thorough code reviews. - Optimizing software libraries for minimal latency, CPU usage, and memory footprint. - Delivering exceptional software quality within a collaborative, team-focused Agile/Scrum framework. - Partnering with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of superior customer products. - Mentoring colleagues to elevate their technical acumen and engineering practices.

We are seeking candidates with a strong foundation in software development and system design.

Essential qualifications include: - A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships. - At least 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, encompassing design patterns, reliability, and scaling. - 3+ years of proficiency in modern programming languages like Java, C++, or C#, with a solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.

Preferred qualifications: - Over 3 years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. - A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is highly desirable.
