As a Software Development Engineer, you will architect and deliver tools and services designed to streamline the manufacturing of IoT-enabled devices for our partners. Your contributions will involve designing and owning solutions that simplify device manufacturing processes through innovative approaches. You will also be responsible for maintaining and evolving the Software Development Kit (SDK) that partners utilize to connect their devices with Alexa's Smart Home Cloud.
This role requires a passion for Alexa and a proven ability to deliver new features and products. Strong teamwork, a deep understanding of IoT systems, robust computer science fundamentals, experience in developing new systems, and excellent communication skills for interacting with both business and technical stakeholders are essential.
We are seeking an engineer with at least three years of professional software development experience, excluding internships. A minimum of two years in designing or architecting new and existing systems, focusing on reliability and scaling, is also required. Proficiency in at least one software programming language is a must.
Preferred qualifications include three or more years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is highly desirable. Experience with C/C++ on RTOS or Linux, along with working knowledge of multithreading, multiprocessing, and synchronization techniques like mutexes and semaphores, is expected.
