As a Software Development Engineer, you will design, develop, test, and deploy advanced Supply Chain Software and Applications. You'll partner with business leaders and work backwards from customer needs to identify problems and propose innovative, scalable solutions. Your efforts will directly impact the AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain & Procurement. This involves collaborating with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to architect robust APIs and intuitive UIs, overseeing the full software development lifecycle for secure deployment on AWS Cloud.

These greenfield projects provide a unique opportunity to build systems from the ground up within the Supply Chain Automation team. You will design and develop large-scale distributed applications, leveraging technologies like reactive microservices, serverless computing, and distributed NoSQL data stores. Key responsibilities include solving complex architectural and business challenges, writing high-quality modular code, developing functional databases and servers, and creating effective technical documentation. You will also mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively in a global setting.

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience (excluding internships). A strong background of at least 3 years in designing or architecting new and existing systems, with a focus on patterns, reliability, and scalability, is essential. Proficiency in at least one software programming language is required.

Preferred qualifications include over 5 years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. Experience building and delivering complex software systems to customers is highly valued. Strong communication skills for gathering requirements, describing features, and presenting technical designs are also beneficial. Familiarity with Supply Chain Planning and Procurement systems development is a significant plus.
