Join a dynamic team within Amazon's Finance Technology division, responsible for managing billions of dollars in monthly payments to vendors globally. We are building sophisticated software applications that handle complex international financial transactions, ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time.

You will operate in a fast-paced environment, embracing an AI-Driven Development Lifecycle to deliver features efficiently and incrementally. This role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, guiding features from customer needs through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support.

Take full ownership of features and components within our payment systems. Define and implement technical solutions, making critical design trade-offs with support from senior engineers. Collaborate directly with product managers and business stakeholders in finance, tax, and accounts payable to understand and deliver on their needs.

Drive incremental releases for large payment system changes through staged rollouts and continuous measurement. Focus on reducing operational load by automating recurring manual interventions and creating self-healing mechanisms. Ensure the systems you build are well-documented and maintainable for future engineers. Contribute to a culture of excellence through code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and onboarding new team members.

This role requires a minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years focused on the design and architecture of new and existing systems, including patterns, reliability, and scaling. You should have 1+ years of experience as a software development engineer and 1+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, or distributed software applications using languages such as C#, C++, Java, or Perl. A strong foundation in Object-Oriented Design is essential.

A Bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required. We are looking for candidates with experience programming in at least one software language. Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. Experience contributing to system architecture and design, debugging and profiling large-scale systems, and working with cloud computing or web services are also highly valued.
