We are seeking a motivated and inventive Software Development Engineer eager to contribute to our ambitious vision. This role involves designing and implementing impactful technical solutions used by teams across Amazon. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, possess a strong understanding of service-oriented architecture, and be instrumental in accelerating business innovation at scale.
Design and build resilient, scalable software solutions to accurately and efficiently manage global tax calculations, processing millions of service requests per minute.
Collaborate with diverse teams to transform business needs into technical solutions that ensure worldwide tax compliance.
Develop, test, and deploy high-quality distributed systems, adhering to best practices in software engineering and modern development methodologies.
Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, including design and code reviews, documentation, testing, and supporting production systems.
Enhance system reliability and performance by monitoring key metrics, identifying optimization areas, and implementing improvements to meet stringent scale and accuracy demands.
A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships.
Possess at least 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, with a focus on design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
Demonstrated proficiency in at least one programming language.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Preferred: 3+ years of experience across the full software development life cycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
