The AWS OpenSearch team is seeking talented Software Development Engineers for its Bangalore-based team. You will play a key role in building advanced search technologies for a diverse customer base. - Design, develop, and support a leading OpenSearch Service handling thousands of search domains. - Prioritize scalability, performance, service robustness, and cost efficiency, particularly within a virtualized, elastic cloud environment. - Utilize scientific analysis and mathematical modeling to forecast, measure, and assess design impacts and platform performance. - Proactively explore, enhance, automate, and optimize distributed systems and tools to meet evolving business and market demands. - Collaborate with a dedicated operations team to ensure seamless 24x7 global service operation. - Contribute to defining the strategic vision and objectives for Amazon OpenSearch Service, aligning with market needs. - Drive innovation in search technology rather than merely observing its evolution. - Mentor fellow Software Development Engineers and provide strategic technical guidance to leadership.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships. - Over 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, encompassing design patterns, reliability, and scaling principles. - 3+ years of hands-on experience with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, Lucene/SOLR, or Storm/Samza. - Proficiency in at least one software programming language. - Preferred: 3+ years of experience across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. - Preferred: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
