Join Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) as a Software Development Engineer on the Labor Insights team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Amazon's labor management platform. This team operates at a massive scale, processing billions of labor events annually to provide crucial productivity reports for warehouse managers globally.

You will be instrumental in designing and developing the next generation of systems that ingest, aggregate, and serve real-time productivity data. This includes contributing to event processing pipelines, aggregation engines, reporting APIs, modern React-based portals, and AI-powered configuration tools.

This is an exceptional opportunity to drive a greenfield initiative, rebuilding the platform from the ground up with a modern, stream-based architecture. By eliminating technical debt, you'll deliver near real-time metrics and contribute significantly to operational efficiency across Amazon's global fulfillment network.

Design, develop, and rigorously test software components across the Labor Insights platform, managing critical data like labor events, time clock punches, and employee location.

Utilize AI-assisted development practices and tools such as Amazon Q and Bedrock to accelerate the delivery of innovative greenfield systems.

Architect and implement large-scale data processing solutions leveraging AWS services like DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, S3, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, Lambda, and stream processing frameworks (Cosmos/Flink) for high throughput and low-latency performance.

Lead service consolidation and modernization efforts, migrating legacy infrastructure to a Native AWS (NAWS) environment with robust CI/CD pipelines.

Actively participate in defining coding standards and enforce them through code and design reviews, while providing accurate development task estimates and negotiating timelines.

Mentor junior team members, fostering their skill development and adherence to best practices. Effectively document and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including team members and stakeholders.

Engage in deep technical discussions, advocating for sound technical solutions and collaborating to achieve optimal outcomes for customers.

A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships, is required.

Possess at least 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, demonstrating proficiency in design patterns, reliability, and scaling.

Proficiency in at least one core software programming language is essential for this role.

Preferred candidates will have 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field of study is highly desirable.
