We are seeking a talented and driven Embedded Software Development Engineer to architect and build next-generation Amazon Echo devices. Contribute to creating intuitive, intelligent voice assistants that reach millions of customers with exciting new features.
In this role, you will spearhead system architecture and develop new features for embedded systems. You will investigate, prototype, and deliver novel system solutions, while also profiling, analyzing, and optimizing system-level performance. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and verifying firmware, participating in design reviews, API development, and documentation.
Work with cutting-edge technologies crucial for product advancement. You will produce investigation plans, reports, architectural documents, design specifications, software and firmware source code, and build scripts. Execute the complete embedded development lifecycle, from debugging and board bring-up to Beta and production.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional software and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration across the entire product stack. Drive the adoption and innovation of Generative AI tools and practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
We require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with over three years of experience in system design and architecture, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling of existing and new systems.
Possess at least four years of professional software development experience. Proficiency in programming with at least one software language is essential, alongside hands-on experience in embedded development using C/C++.
Familiarity with RTOS, Android, and/or Linux systems is expected. Experience with board bring-up and troubleshooting of embedded systems is also required.
Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Computer Science, extensive experience in the full software development lifecycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, operations), expertise with Linux on ARM CPUs, deep knowledge of Linux kernel and application software development, and experience with real-time debugging tools (both software and hardware).
