Join the DB AI Program Office, the core team driving Oracle's database AI initiatives. We empower customers to build, deploy, and manage AI applications leveraging Oracle data. This role offers a unique opportunity for a hands-on technical leader with deep Oracle Database expertise, robust cloud services experience, and practical AI knowledge. You will be instrumental in designing AI solutions from the user's perspective – whether they are developers, platform engineers, or administrators. Collaborate closely with product management to shape the future roadmap, define the technical vision for the team, and contribute directly by writing production-level code.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing the platform control plane, encompassing APIs, resource management, provisioning workflows, and deployment orchestration. You will define clear service boundaries and interactions for customer workload systems, and build capabilities for managing AI assets like models and agents with versioning and lineage tracking.

Develop application release bundles that ensure tested configurations while adapting resources for various environments. Design robust identity and access patterns for users, applications, and AI agents across different services. Address critical aspects such as tenant isolation, failure recovery, observability, and performance in diverse cloud deployment models.

Architect secure and performant data and access patterns using Oracle Database. Enhance user adoption through intuitive APIs, actionable diagnostics, and integrations with existing developer tools. Evaluate AI capabilities from a user standpoint, translating challenges into clear engineering priorities in collaboration with product, field teams, and customers. Prototype complex technical decisions and write production code. Provide technical leadership, conduct design reviews, mentor engineers, and ensure implementation quality and operational readiness. Effectively communicate intricate topics to engineering, product, and leadership teams.

We seek individuals with at least 8 years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years focused on database products or cloud services. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.

Essential experience includes designing SaaS applications, covering provisioning, lifecycle management, deployment orchestration, APIs, and metadata. Practical, hands-on experience with LLMs, agentic frameworks, RAG, and AI evaluation is crucial. A working understanding of identity and access management, including OAuth and OIDC, is also necessary.

Candidates should possess experience in designing for tenant isolation, failure recovery, observability, and performance in cloud services, alongside strong programming and REST API design skills. Familiarity with Oracle Database AI capabilities, Oracle database services, and identity domains is advantageous. Experience with versioning, dependency tracking, lineage, or release management for AI or software assets is a plus.

Additional preferred qualifications include experience building developer tools, SDKs, or user-facing consoles. Familiarity with MCP, agent interoperability, or advanced observability and tracing for AI applications is beneficial. Direct experience shaping product direction through customer or field team engagement is highly valued.
