Our mission is to foster long-term success for Selling Partners and delight customers by building trusted shopping experiences. We aim to provide services, tools, and experiences that enhance efficiency, growth, and transparency across the entire selling journey and globally.
This role offers the chance to take advanced ownership of critical systems that scale Amazon’s Selling Partner ecosystem. You'll leverage foundational engineering excellence to provide strategic technical leadership, ensuring solutions align with Amazon's vision for partner enablement and marketplace expansion.
As a Software Development Engineer-2, you will drive end-to-end ownership of complex features and subsystems, defining architectures that balance performance, scalability, and maintainability for large-scale services.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and stakeholders to translate business objectives into innovative technical strategies. This includes leading cross-functional design workshops and advocating for customer-centric solutions.
Key responsibilities involve building and evolving high-availability, secure services using modern engineering practices, including robust testing, CI/CD pipelines, and comprehensive observability. You'll also own system reliability and performance, proactively addressing production issues and implementing automated monitoring to enhance partner experience uptime.
Deliver high-impact features, from advanced analytics to next-generation onboarding workflows, while championing innovation and exploring new technologies. You'll also mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence, and act as a technical escalation point.
We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. A strong foundation in programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design principles, is essential.
Prior experience of at least 3 years in design or architecture, focusing on the reliability and scaling of new and existing systems, is required.
Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience across the full software development life cycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. Experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, or distributed software applications and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl is highly valued. Experience delivering complex software systems successfully to customers is also a significant plus.
