Join Amazon's eCommerce Foundation (eCF) organization, the engine behind the Amazon website and customer experience. We build for scale, handling millions of page views and orders daily. Within eCF, the Business Data Technologies (BDT) group processes petabytes of data from diverse sources, supporting Amazon subsidiaries like IMDB and Audible. We provide efficient data access and query interfaces using AWS technologies such as Redshift, EMR, Glue, LakeFormation, and SageMaker, developing scalable solutions that adapt to Amazon's growth.

BDT is expanding as the data processing landscape evolves. Our data serves thousands of teams, including Research Scientists, Machine Learning Specialists, Business Analysts, and Data Engineers. We are actively developing next-generation data catalog, discovery, transformation, and machine learning products powered by AWS.

We are seeking talented engineers to contribute to building these innovative products from the ground up. This role is hands-on, focusing on designing and developing highly scalable data processing components at Amazon. You will collaborate with senior engineers to tackle complex technical challenges and partner with internal customers to optimize their results. A strong foundation in software development, proficiency in programming languages, and a deep understanding of data structures and algorithms are essential. A passion for large-scale computing, a drive to learn, deliver results, and grow as an engineer are key.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and deploy innovative products and services. Design and construct software components within a large-scale distributed computing environment. Develop solutions for running predictions on distributed systems, utilizing cutting-edge technologies at immense scale and speed. Build scalable, fault-tolerant, cost-effective, and user-friendly distributed storage, indexing, and query systems. Translate broadly defined problems into well-engineered solutions, with guidance from senior engineering staff. Contribute to an agile development workflow, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software. Produce clean, maintainable code and actively participate in code review processes. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the entire software stack.

A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships. Over 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, including expertise in design patterns, reliability, and scaling. A minimum of 3 years of experience within the Video Games Industry, specifically supporting title development, release, or live operations. Demonstrated programming experience in at least one software programming language. Experience with the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations is preferred. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
