Join Amazon's eCommerce Foundation (eCF) organization, a critical component powering the Amazon website and customer experience. As part of the Business Data Technologies (BDT) group, you'll work with petabytes of data from diverse sources, supporting Amazon subsidiaries like IMDB and Audible. We leverage AWS services such as Redshift, EMR, Glue, LakeFormation, and SageMaker to build scalable data solutions.
BDT is expanding, and we're at the forefront of evolving data processing landscapes. Our data serves thousands of teams, including Research Scientists, Machine Learning Specialists, Business Analysts, and Data Engineers. We are actively developing next-generation products for data cataloging, discovery, transformation, and machine learning using cutting-edge AWS technologies.
Design and construct highly scalable components and features for Amazon's data processing infrastructure. Collaborate closely with senior engineers to tackle complex technical challenges and partner with internal customers to ensure optimal results. Develop innovative products and services, contributing to the design and build of software components within a large distributed computing environment.
Create solutions for running predictions on distributed systems, utilizing advanced technologies at an unprecedented scale and speed. Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, cost-effective, and user-friendly. Write clean, maintainable code, actively participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot issues across the entire software stack in an agile setting.
We are seeking talented engineers to build groundbreaking products from the ground up. This hands-on role requires strong programming skills, a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, and a passion for massive-scale computing. A commitment to learning, delivering results, and professional growth is essential.
Key qualifications include a minimum of 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience. Additionally, 2+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling, is necessary. Experience in the video games industry supporting title development, release, or live operations is also required.
Preferred qualifications encompass 3+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field is highly valued.
