Join Amazon's eCommerce Foundation (eCF) organization, a critical part of the Amazon website's core operations. The Business Data Technologies (BDT) group within eCF manages petabytes of data from diverse sources, supporting Amazon subsidiaries and powering internal customer queries with AWS technologies like Redshift, EMR, Glue, LakeFormation, and SageMaker. We are developing next-generation data catalog, discovery, transformation, and machine learning products, seeking talented engineers to build these innovative solutions from the ground up.

This role offers a hands-on opportunity to design and develop highly scalable data processing components. You will collaborate with senior engineers to tackle complex technical challenges and work with internal customers to ensure optimal results. We seek strong software developers with a solid grasp of programming, data structures, algorithms, and a passion for large-scale computing, coupled with a drive to learn, deliver, and grow.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver innovative products and services. Design and build robust software components within a large-scale distributed computing environment. Develop scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective distributed storage, indexing, and query systems. Translate broadly defined problems into well-designed and coded solutions, with guidance from senior engineers. Contribute to an agile development process, delivering high-quality software. Write clean, maintainable code and actively participate in code reviews. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the entire software stack.

Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience (non-internship). A minimum of 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, including familiarity with design patterns, reliability, and scaling principles. Proficiency in at least one software programming language. Experience throughout the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. Passion for building scalable systems and solving complex problems.
