This is a unique opportunity to be a foundational member of our Commerce team in India, shaping the future of global commerce systems for Amazon Leo.

This role is pivotal in establishing our regional presence and developing critical commerce infrastructure. You will collaborate with diverse engineering teams, including AWS, retail e-commerce, networking, and security, to deliver innovative solutions.

Note: This position may involve access to technology subject to U.S. export control laws. Eligibility for necessary export licenses based on nationality and citizenship will be a requirement.

Engage in the strategic direction and UI presentation of products. Design and implement scalable, globally accessible distributed cloud architectures. Collaborate closely with Software Development Engineers, Product Managers, and UX Designers to craft exceptional customer experiences. Contribute to all phases of new feature development, from ideation and design exploration to technical implementation using modern technologies and patterns.

Possess over 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships. Have at least 2 years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, focusing on patterns, reliability, and scaling. Proficient in at least one software programming language.

A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, alongside extensive experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
