As a Software Development Engineer II, you will architect and implement the data infrastructure and engineering systems powering our communication intelligence, including scalable pipelines, visualization tools, and robust services. This is an opportunity to work at the nexus of data engineering and applied science. You will be involved in designing and building scalable real-time and batch data pipelines, creating visualization dashboards, and developing robust APIs and services. You'll also play a key role in establishing engineering best practices and collaborating closely with applied scientists to translate requirements into efficient, maintainable systems. Ownership of the end-to-end data flow, ensuring low latency and high availability, is central to this position.
Key responsibilities include designing and building scalable real-time and batch data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and serving. You will develop visualization dashboards and monitoring tools to gain insights into system performance and data quality. Creating robust APIs, services, and infrastructure to facilitate the science team's experimentation and model deployment is also crucial. You are expected to establish engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing strategies, and operational excellence. Collaboration with applied scientists to understand and implement requirements, along with owning the end-to-end data flow for low latency and high availability, are integral to this role.
The role requires a minimum of 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience. Additionally, 2+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling, is necessary. Proficiency in at least one software programming language is a must. Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience across the full software development life cycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent field is preferred.
