This role focuses on designing and implementing automation tools and processes to streamline the management and administration of SCM systems for our distributed engineering teams. You will contribute to building best-in-industry solutions that operate efficiently at scale.

Oversee the complete SCM ecosystem, encompassing applications, operating systems, and server hardware, driving continuous automation and innovation for our expansive environment.

Develop novel solutions to boost infrastructure reliability and performance, utilizing automated orchestration tools for deployment across numerous worldwide systems.

Collaborate within a global team, evaluating technology options, defining solutions with project members, crafting timelines, and leading ongoing support and enhancements.

Lead or contribute to GitLab upgrades and migrations, architectural assessments, design documentation, root cause analysis, and system-level fixes.

Significantly enhance the daily productivity of leading chip designers and software engineers worldwide.

A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years of professional background.

Profound understanding of SCM practices and extensive experience with large-scale, multi-site GitLab environments. Familiarity with other SCM tools like Perforce, Subversion, or ClearCase is advantageous.

Proven experience configuring and deploying Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) systems.

Exceptional proficiency in interpreted languages, with a preference for Object-Oriented Perl or Python, coupled with strong software engineering process skills.

Robust skills in scripting and object-oriented languages such as Python or Ruby, adhering to solid software engineering practices and understanding design patterns.

Hands-on experience with relational databases, PostgreSQL being preferred.

Required experience in DevOps or system administration on Linux systems (Rocky Linux 8, CentOS/RHEL, and Ubuntu are preferred).

Substantial experience with automation tools, ideally Ansible or Puppet, alongside excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.

Comfort and enthusiasm for working in dynamic and rapidly evolving environments.
