Join a dynamic team at Microsoft driving the future of data analytics and AI. This Site Reliability Engineering role is pivotal in ensuring the operational excellence of critical data integration services within the Azure Data and Microsoft Fabric ecosystems.
You will be instrumental in building the next generation of live site engineering, focusing on automated incident response and self-driving operations. This is an opportunity to innovate and shape how data is managed and utilized, powering a new era of data-first applications.
Engage in first-line incident triage and response, providing on-call support for incoming issues across various data integration services. Develop and enhance AI-driven agents for automated alert ingestion, correlation, and initial assessment.
Create automation for matching incidents to troubleshooting guides and known issues, accelerating resolution times. Implement intelligent systems for auto-routing and classification of incidents. Build agents to automate incident summarization, customer communications, and postmortem generation, minimizing manual effort.
Focus on continuous improvement by measuring and enhancing first-time mitigation and incident deflection rates. Uphold high standards for incoming escalations and embody the company's culture and values.
A minimum of 4 years of software engineering experience in site reliability, live site operations, or incident management for cloud services is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, PowerShell, Python, or KQL/Kusto is required.
Demonstrated experience with incident management systems (e.g., ICM, PagerDuty) and monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Kusto, Geneva) is crucial. Candidates must be willing to participate in an on-call rotation across time zones and effectively interface with engineering, leadership, and customer support teams.
Preferred qualifications include experience with AI/ML-driven automation, Azure, Power BI, Fabric services, and troubleshooting guide authoring. Familiarity with live site ecosystem management and understanding of SLA management are also advantageous.
