This role involves leading a team of engineers in the development of embedded systems for custom silicon. You will provide technical leadership, manage project goals, and contribute to product strategy, guiding a team to optimize their code and deliver high-impact solutions. The work spans across various domains, including AI, distributed computing, and system design, contributing to Google's mission of organizing the world's information and creating helpful experiences through advanced hardware and software.

Google Silicon focuses on creating custom silicon solutions within consumer hardware. The SiValSW team is dedicated to building a unified development platform for system software, supporting emulation, simulation, and silicon backends. Their focus is on developing scalable, reusable system software for diverse SoC families, essential for tape-out, bring-up, and validation efforts.

Lead and mentor an engineering team focused on driving software strategy and execution for pre- and post-silicon validation of custom SoC families.

Deliver essential boot platform software and low-level drivers, specifically tailored for silicon validation and System Level Test (SLT) operations.

Develop critical firmware and system software for key IP blocks, encompassing power management, various peripherals, and memory modules.

Oversee software development across core areas like platform software (BSP, firmware, drivers), security architecture, and system power/performance optimization.

Foster technical excellence by mentoring team members in software architecture, code quality, and best engineering practices.

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is required.

Eight years of experience is needed in areas such as interface protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, UART, UFS, PCIe), power management, system-integration software stacks, and driver development.

A minimum of two years of experience in a people management, supervision, or team leadership capacity is essential.

Proven experience in embedded systems development, RTOS concepts, device drivers, and hardware/software integration is crucial for this role.
