Join a forward-thinking team at Google's custom silicon division, focused on innovating within consumer hardware. As a Software Engineering Manager for Embedded Systems, you will steer the technical direction and team growth for critical silicon validation software. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of computing by combining expertise in AI, Software, and Hardware to create impactful technologies.
Your leadership will be instrumental in developing a unified platform for system software, enabling robust validation across emulators, simulators, and actual silicon. You'll ensure our software is portable, scalable, and supports the entire lifecycle from tape-out to validation, contributing to Google's mission of making information universally accessible.
Lead a talented engineering team in defining and executing software strategy, architectural design, and development for both pre-silicon and post-silicon validation of custom SoC families. You will be responsible for delivering essential boot platform software and low-level drivers tailored for silicon validation and System Level Test (SLT) execution. This includes developing firmware and system software for key IP blocks, driving advancements in platform software, security, and system power/performance. A key aspect of this role is mentoring and guiding team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence through code quality and best practices.
We are seeking an experienced leader with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, coupled with equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with interface protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, UART, UFS, PCIe), power management, system-integration software stacks, and drivers is essential. Additionally, 2 years of proven experience in people management, supervision, or team leadership is required. A strong background in embedded systems development, RTOS concepts, device drivers, and hardware/software integration is crucial for success in this role.
