As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be instrumental in guiding a team of skilled engineers. Your role extends beyond technical leadership to encompass project management, product strategy contribution, and team development. You will optimize not only your own work but also empower your team to achieve their best, driving significant projects and contributing to Google's ambitious technological endeavors.
Lead a high-performing engineering team, steering software strategy, architectural design, and execution for both pre-silicon and post-silicon validation phases across diverse custom SoC families.
Deliver robust boot platform software and essential low-level drivers critical for silicon validation and System Level Test (SLT) execution.
Develop sophisticated firmware and system software solutions for key intellectual property (IP) blocks, including power management, peripherals, and memory modules.
Spearhead software development across core domains such as platform software (BSP, firmware, drivers), security architecture and systems, and system power and performance optimization.
Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence through emphasis on software architecture, code quality, and best engineering practices.
Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or demonstrate equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience is required with interface protocols like USB, SPI, I2C, UART, UFS, and PCIe, alongside expertise in power management, system-integration software stacks, and driver development.
Additionally, at least 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision, or team leadership capacity is essential. You should also have a strong background in embedded systems development, understanding of RTOS concepts, device drivers, and hardware/software integration.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer streams, or equivalent practical experience, with 12 years of experience in development, testing, and deployment of consumer electronics/embedded systems. Proficiency in embedded programming using C/C++ and experience with embedded systems, kernel, RTOS, firmware, or device drivers are highly advantageous. Familiarity with ARM, system BIOS, and device drivers is also beneficial.
