This role involves developing the core software that enables silicon chips to function. You will craft pre-silicon firmware and software, working directly with hardware interfaces. Responsibilities include integrating and building C-based tests and APIs, managing the software build process, and conducting thorough design and code reviews. Your work will be crucial for testing and validating product implementations.
Key responsibilities include developing software for silicon chips, creating pre-silicon firmware with direct hardware interaction, and building C test suites and APIs. You will also be involved in integrating the software build flow, performing design and code reviews, and executing tests to validate product implementations. This role requires a strong ability to interface directly with hardware.
Additionally, you will contribute to the successful implementation of software solutions, perform maintenance on existing systems, and deliver high-quality code. Independent performance and becoming a subject matter expert are expected, alongside active participation in team discussions and contributing to problem-solving.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Embedded C++ is required. A 15-year full-time education is mandatory. Strong programming and analytical skills in C/C++ are essential. Familiarity with embedded systems concepts such as RTOS, interrupts, and tasks is necessary. Experience with device drivers for Linux or Windows, and embedded or OS-level audio stacks, is highly valued. A solid understanding of audio systems and software engineering, including frameworks like OpenMax, SOF, and ALSA, is expected.
Proficiency in debugging and problem-solving across drivers, firmware, DSP, and OS layers is critical. Candidates should understand audio architectures (CODEC, DSP, AMP, I2S, TDM, PCM, SoundWire, etc.) and be able to use tools like CRO, Logic Analyzers, and Audio Precision. Knowledge of schematics, datasheets, build systems, Cmake, and Makefiles is also required.
