As a Silicon Engineer, you'll design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge consumer hardware. You'll be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, leveraging your engineering expertise to tackle diverse challenges and explore innovative solutions. The role also involves participating in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts within a manufacturing and product-oriented development environment, collaborating with external partners to bring components to market.
The Platforms and Devices team is at the forefront of Google's computing software platforms, spanning desktop, mobile, and application environments. We also focus on first-party devices and services that integrate Google's advanced AI, software, and hardware capabilities. Our teams are dedicated to researching, designing, and developing novel technologies that enhance user interaction with computing, making it faster and more seamless while building groundbreaking experiences globally.
Collaborate with SoC teams to engineer power and performance optimized chips.
Contribute to the comprehensive design, verification, and silicon implementation of ASICs and SoCs.
Engage in the design of concepts related to CPUs, image processing, machine learning, computer vision, security, and video.
Partner with various teams to streamline and automate SoC design workflows.
Drive innovation in the development of cutting-edge silicon solutions.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a comparable technical field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
Possess foundational knowledge of design concepts and computer hardware architecture.
Preferred qualifications include internship, work, or personal project experience in Hardware, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering outside of academic coursework.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: SoC/ASIC Design, Design Verification, Physical Design, or Design for Testability.
Proficiency in Verilog/HDL or System Verilog coding is a significant advantage.
