This Senior Wintel Platform System Engineer role is pivotal in shaping Vocalink’s Windows environment. The position emphasizes end-to-end automation and lifecycle management, utilizing SCCM and Ansible for scalable, consistent, and secure infrastructure. You will be instrumental in transitioning our Wintel operations to a modern, automation-driven platform engineering model, ensuring all services meet stringent SLAs, security, and availability targets.

- Design, implement, and manage SCCM solutions for OS deployment, patching, software distribution, and compliance adherence. - Develop and maintain Ansible automation frameworks for Windows configuration, orchestration, and integration with SCCM. - Create and manage automated Windows server build pipelines, including gold images and baseline configurations. - Deliver Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for efficient provisioning and configuration management. - Automate patching, remediation, and compliance enforcement across the entire Wintel infrastructure. - Integrate SCCM and Ansible with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows for streamlined operations. - Develop self-service capabilities to automate application and infrastructure delivery. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex Windows platform issues, implementing proactive automation for prevention. - Lead platform modernization initiatives, focusing on reducing manual effort and operational overhead. - Support capacity planning, performance optimization, and cost management efforts. - Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver scalable platform services. - Work with vendors and stakeholders to implement industry best practices.

We seek an experienced professional with a strong background in Wintel platform engineering and SCCM-based solutions at scale. Proven experience in implementing and optimizing SCCM (Endpoint Configuration Manager) environments is essential.

Demonstrated hands-on experience with Ansible for Windows automation, including WinRM, PowerShell modules, and orchestration, is required. Candidates should possess experience in building automated OS deployment and patching frameworks, along with a track record of transforming traditional Windows administration into automation-led operations.

This role demands the ability to define and implement automation standards, frameworks, and best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and experience resolving complex enterprise platform issues are critical. The ideal candidate will have experience driving efficiency, compliance, and cost optimization through automation initiatives. Advanced proficiency in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and PowerShell scripting is expected. Expertise in SCCM/Endpoint Management, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), along with Git/version control, is paramount. Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), networking, ITIL Service Management, and Agile delivery methodologies is also valued.
