We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead reliability-focused programs within our Authentication Program. This pivotal role bridges Engineering, SRE, Product, Business Operations, and Platform teams, driving strategic initiatives to enhance platform health, operational maturity, release excellence, and customer experience. The ideal candidate possesses a strong blend of technical program management expertise and a deep understanding of cloud-scale distributed systems, operational excellence, resiliency engineering, performance, capacity planning, and large-scale release coordination. If you are passionate about building highly dependable systems that support billions of secure transactions worldwide, this opportunity is for you.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning. Coordinate resource planning and capacity allocation within SRE and engineering teams, balancing operational tasks, incident response, technical debt, and strategic projects.
Drive backlog prioritization and manage dependencies across multiple Scrum teams to ensure timely delivery. Own end-to-end release governance for the authentication program, identifying improvements in release processes, planning accuracy, and efficiency. Understand the needs of engineering and operational teams.
Identify dependencies, resolve blockers, and ensure stakeholder alignment. Lead strategic programs to boost platform availability, resiliency, reliability, and operational maturity. Partner with SRE and Engineering to address reliability risks and implement mitigation strategies. Establish structured review processes for reliability, resiliency, performance, scalability, and operational readiness. Advocate for engineering best practices such as observability, automation, self-healing, disaster recovery, and operational excellence.
Coordinate major releases, platform upgrades, migrations, and production rollouts across multiple teams. Manage release risks, dependencies, issue resolution, rollback plans, and stakeholder communications. Drive automation initiatives to enhance reliability and reduce operational overhead. Influence technical and business stakeholders effectively without direct authority. Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and operational excellence.
A strong grasp of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and modern platform engineering practices is essential. Demonstrate a proven ability to break down complex problems, organize work, plan sprints, and deliver technical programs using agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
Experience in driving capacity planning, performance engineering, disaster recovery, and operational readiness initiatives is required. Proven success in managing large, cross-functional release programs involving multiple teams is expected. You should enjoy delving into platform capabilities and underlying technologies.
Showcase a track record of data-driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies. Be adept at discussing delivery strategies with business teams, architects, engineers, and designers, and communicating effectively with impact and authenticity to executives, peers, and staff.
Demonstrated experience building relationships, partnering with, and influencing dependent teams while earning respect across the organization is crucial. Expertise in Payments, IaaS, PaaS, serverless technology, CI/CD, SQL/NoSQL databases, microservices APIs, and distributed systems operations in a DevOps model is a significant advantage.
This role requires 6+ years of technical program delivery experience, including time spent developing and testing software. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
