Mastercard is a global technology leader in the payments industry, dedicated to connecting and empowering an inclusive digital economy for everyone, everywhere. We strive to make transactions secure, simple, smart, and accessible. Our commitment to innovation and partnerships drives our mission to define a world beyond cash. Join our Transfer Solutions team, at the forefront of real-time payments, as we build and scale applications that transform payment experiences for domestic, cross-border, and bill payments.
This role is pivotal in establishing Mastercard as a frontrunner in the rapidly evolving real-time payments landscape. We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to champion agile methodologies and drive the development of next-generation payment applications. Your expertise will be instrumental in accelerating our mission to transform payments of any type.
You will foster agile practices like Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming across multiple teams, ensuring adherence to agile rules and building quality into development. A key part of your role involves acting as a team facilitator, challenging established norms to enhance quality, predictability, flow, and velocity.
Enable synchronization and cadence across teams, ensuring alignment of backlogs and solutions. You will collaborate closely with product management to maintain a healthy backlog and organize engineering backlog items across teams, aligning dependent organizations. Identifying and removing blockers, while always seeking a path forward in complex situations, will be essential.
Drive execution from inception to successful delivery across full-stack services or enterprise-wide integrations. You will serve as a primary point of contact, maintaining transparent backlogs as sources of truth for project status and visualizing information radiators on batch size and work flow.
Understand business strategy and design approaches to effectively engage with teams. You will evaluate design strengths and weaknesses, considering scalability, latency, security, performance, and data integrity. Working with ambiguity, you will transform raw ideas into clear instructions for teams through backlog grooming.
Potentially engage with external technology providers to optimize implementation plans and roadmaps for speed and cost-effectiveness. You will also champion the needs of engineers and technical operations teams, regularly review metrics, and proactively seek improvements for program alignment with organizational objectives. Mentoring and recruiting others will also be a key part of this role.
We seek an individual with extensive experience in agile delivery, leveraging Lean Product Management, Lean Management, and DevOps practices. You should be adept at running agile processes including grooming, planning, prioritization, and retrospectives.
Your ability to anticipate bottlenecks, risks, and dependencies, and to effectively use agile practices to unblock issues, manage risks (ROAM), and eliminate dependencies to create workflow is crucial. You will be responsible for ensuring success metrics are in place or defining them as needed. Recognizing discordant views and engaging in constructive dialogue to resolve them is also expected.
Continuously assess product and software development lifecycles to improve concurrent project delivery and streamline or eliminate excess processes in architecture, production operations, or business areas. Experience with modern SDLC practices like Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Delivery, DevOps, and Quality Engineering, and their application in various delivery scenarios, is required.
You should possess the skills to conduct product demos and coordinate with product owners for sign-offs. A background in software engineering or product management experience is highly desirable.
