We are looking for a seasoned PostgreSQL Database Administrator with approximately 7 years of experience. Your expertise will be vital in administering, optimizing, and supporting our mission-critical PostgreSQL databases. A strong command of AWS-managed database services like Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL is essential, alongside proven skills in performance tuning, ensuring high availability, robust backup and recovery, security best practices, and database automation.

Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases. You will manage both RDS PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL environments, performing essential tasks such as database migrations, backups, and recovery.

Your role will involve actively monitoring database performance and implementing tuning recommendations. You will configure replication, high availability, failover, and disaster recovery solutions. Collaboration with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams is expected, as is automating routine DBA tasks through scripting and various tools.

Strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication, and effective stakeholder management are critical. The capacity to work independently in production environments is also a key requirement.

Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree and over 7 years of dedicated PostgreSQL DBA experience. Essential technical skills include deep expertise in query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.

Hands-on experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL is a must, alongside familiarity with services such as CloudWatch, IAM, KMS, AWS Backup, and Secrets Manager. Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration, shell scripting, and Python is required.

Experience with large-scale production databases is highly valued. Exposure to infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is beneficial. A foundational understanding of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Alert Manager, and Grafana, as well as CloudWatch Database Insights, is also important.
