This position is ideal for a seasoned PostgreSQL Database Administrator with around 7 years of dedicated experience. You will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and support of vital PostgreSQL databases, with a strong emphasis on AWS-managed services like Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL. Your expertise in performance tuning, high availability, robust backup and recovery strategies, security best practices, and database automation will be crucial.

Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases, alongside managing RDS PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL environments. You'll execute database migrations, handle backup and recovery tasks, and meticulously monitor database performance, implementing tuning recommendations. Establishing replication, high availability, failover, and disaster recovery solutions is essential. Collaboration with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams is expected. Furthermore, you will automate routine DBA tasks through scripting and tools, leveraging strong troubleshooting skills and excellent communication to manage stakeholders effectively. An ability to work independently within production environments is also a requirement.

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in any discipline is required. Essential technical skills include deep expertise in query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning. Proven experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL is mandatory. Familiarity with AWS services such as CloudWatch, IAM, KMS, AWS Backup, and Secrets Manager is vital. Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration, coupled with shell scripting and Python skills, is necessary. Experience managing large-scale production databases is expected. Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is beneficial. Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Alert Manager, and Grafana, along with an understanding of CloudWatch Database Insights, is highly desirable.
