Develop and maintain features across the entire Android application stack, including input, networking, video rendering, UI, and app distribution.
Define and execute performance benchmarking to analyze impact, profiling and tuning software across networking, CPU, GPU, and input using Android tooling and AOSP internals.
Innovate and design features to enhance video latency, quality, performance, reliability, and security across various hardware and Android-based OS environments.
Take ownership of features from initial scoping through delivery, including work breakdown, technical documentation, milestone tracking, and risk management.
Actively participate in code and design reviews, team processes, and methodologies.
Collaborate effectively with internal engineering and QA teams, as well as external Android product partners.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is required.
Possess over 10 years of experience in systems software development with a strong understanding of Android core concepts like Activity, Fragment, Service, and JNI.
Demonstrate experience with graphics rendering and video playback pipelines on Android, utilizing MediaCodec, EGL, and Vulkan.
Show hands-on proficiency with Android profiling and debugging tools for networking, input, CPU, and GPU, such as Dumpsys, Traceview, and GPU Inspector.
Have a solid grasp of Android build system components including Gradle, Jenkins, and AAB.
Understand Android's test infrastructure, encompassing instrumentation, UI automation, and unit testing.
Exhibit high proficiency in Java and C/C++, comfortable navigating large, long-lived codebases.
Be skilled in using visualization tools like Kibana for statistical data analysis to measure feature performance.
Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Perforce, and Git is expected.
Ability to independently drive projects to completion, with excellent communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.
